Fair Energy 24 : Bandjoum Lendi

We are delighted to announce that the Pewohaze solar electrification project, in collaboration with Caring Hearts, is part of our Fair Energy 2024 campaign! Since 2019, this organisation, based in Diksmuide, has been actively committed to improving access to education and drinking water in Cameroon.

Pewohaze, an organization based in Diksmuide, has been working closely with Caring Hearts, a Cameroonian NGO, since 2019 to bring positive and lasting changes to local communities in Cameroon. Our mission revolves around two main axes: improving access to education and providing clean water to those in need. In the field of education, we actively support three schools: the Catholic Schools of Tse, the Center for the Training and Education of Deaf Children, and the Catholic School of Femleng Topo. Our support manifests in various ways, including renovating infrastructures such as cementing classrooms and renovating toilets, equipping classrooms with desks and blackboards, and providing essential school supplies.

Regarding access to clean water, we have undertaken to drill wells in Lendi (Douala) and Bandjoun, thus supplying local communities with clean and safe water. In Bandjoun, our well serves over 300 people daily, significantly improving their quality of life. Building on these achievements, we now aim to embark on a new challenge: greenhouse agriculture. However, we face a major obstacle: unstable electricity supply. In Lendi (Douala), where we are constructing our greenhouses, power outages last from 4 to 8 hours a day, while in Bandjoun, outages and voltage drops can extend for several days, jeopardizing the operation of our water well.

To overcome these challenges and ensure the viability of our agricultural project, we have identified a promising solution: solar energy. That is why we are seeking the services of Solarly, an expert in solar solutions. Your support will allow us to install solar energy systems, thus ensuring a stable electricity supply for our agricultural greenhouses and ensuring continuous operation of our water wells. This transition to solar energy will not only improve our operations but also have a significant positive impact on the quality of life of the communities we serve.

The project requires a total investment of 6 436€, which will be raised through this fundraising campaign.
