We are delighted to announce that the project to electrify the secondary school in the village of BIH (G.S.S BIH), supported by the non-profit organisation NFUH Wimbum Europe, is part of our Fair Energy 2024 campaign! Located in the North-West region of Cameroon, this school has 400 pupils and faces major challenges, exacerbated by the current political crisis. Thanks to this project, the school will be able to offer an improved learning environment, giving pupils access to interactive programmes and digital tools. Electrifying the school will also help to boost girls’ enrolment by giving them the opportunity to continue their education while staying with their families.
Ideally, we need €10,326.53 to be able to carry out the solar electrification of the BIH school. A basic installation can already be considered from 5 500 €.
NFUH Wimbum Europe is a group created in July 2021 on the occasion of the first gathering of people from the Wimbum ethnic group residing in Europe.
Acting first and foremost as a de facto association, the objective of this group is the promotion of the Wimbum culture among the members of the Cameroonian diaspora in Europe as well as anyone wishing to discover the rich culture and traditions of the Wimbum people. In February 2024, the group was set up as a non-profit organization in order to better meet the expectations of its members and to promote solidarity actions for the benefit of disadvantaged people and populations.
The main objectives of the project we are presenting as part of this campaign is to raise funds for the electrification of the secondary school in the village of BIH (G.S.S BIH) in the north-west region of Cameroon, Donga Mantung prefecture, a region hard hit by an ongoing political crisis.
The electrification of the secondary school in the village of BIH will allow 400 students to go to a school near the village and the girls will be able to easily follow the classes while continuing to live with their respective families. In addition, if the school is electrified, students will be able to access interactive programs through PCs and/or other digital tools.
Ideally, we need €10,326.53 to be able to carry out the solar electrification of the BIH school. A basic installation can already be considered from 5 500 €.
