The Tikki Hywood Foundation is an NGO based in Zimbabwe with over 30 years of experience in rescuing, rehabilitating, and releasing endangered pangolins. Pangolins have the dubious title of “the world’s most illegally traded mammal,” both for their meat and for their scales, despite global laws meant to protect these shy animals.
Since 2021, THF has opened a second rescue, rehabilitation and release centre for pangolin in Cameroon, the first and only center of its kind in Central and West Africa. All these pangolins are victims of illegal trade and arrive at the rescue centre in a highly compromised state: dehydration, starvation, and severe injuries from traps are common occurrences. THF works closely with the Cameroonian government, and in just 3 years, they have rescued 293 pangolins, of which 220 have been released in protected areas!
The center of the Tikki Hywood Foundation is located in a National Park in Cameroon. A team of 13 people cares for about 150 threatened pangolins every year. There is no electricity here. Your contribution will finance the solar installation that provides the electricity needed to take care of the animals and the team.

The total budget for this project is €12,445. The Tikki Hywood Foundation has already contributed €6,970. This leaves €5,475 to be raised, of which €1,235 has already been collected.
