Giving energy to FERMAGRIC means giving it a future.
In the west of Cameroon, a poultry farm unlike any other is fighting every day to feed its community, create jobs, and offer young people a future. Thanks to the first donations, the solar works have already started… now all that’s missing is one last push to see it through.
Created in 2018, the Ferme Agro-industrielle du Cameroun (FERMAGRIC) is much more than a poultry project. It is a place where chickens are raised, yes, but above all a place where hopes are raised.
FERMAGRIC fights against malnutrition and strengthens food security in its region. The farm also offers job and training opportunities, especially for young mothers. Every job created, every skill passed on is one more step in the fight against poverty, rural exodus, and forced migration.
Today, the main obstacle to the farm’s development is painfully simple
👉 there is no electricity grid.
Without electricity, it is difficult to pump water, keep products refrigerated, ensure proper lighting, or simply improve working conditions. The full potential of FERMAGRIC is held back.
To change this, a concrete solution has been designed: the installation of a solar energy system in partnership with Solarly, ensuring professional implementation and long-term maintenance.
With solar energy, the farm will finally be able to:
power a water pump,
install cooling systems,
secure reliable lighting,
and significantly reduce its operating costs
Thanks to the support of the city of Aalst (€2,000) and the first donations already received, part of the work has already started. The project is no longer just a plan on paper: FERMAGRIC’s energy transition is underway.
But to see it through, we still need your support. There is €4,450 left to raise to finance the full installation of the solar system and allow the farm to truly become autonomous.
