Enlight Zalom – Phase II
Consolidating Sustainable Energy for the Community
After a successful first step in spring 2025—thanks to the support of the Province of West Flanders, the Synergie Renouvelable Foundation, and our first donors—the Zalom community now benefits from a reliable, durable solar installation. This achievement marked a turning point: for the first time, access to clean, continuous electricity became a reality.
Why a second phase?
The project’s second phase builds on this progress. It aims to optimize the use of the energy already available by installing suitable, high-quality lighting that will ensure the safety of shared spaces while enabling a more efficient use of the electricity produced. In parallel, the internal electrical network will be reinforced and upgraded to ensure a stable and long-lasting distribution of energy. The project’s sustainability also relies on a maintenance arrangement provided by our partner Solarly, which guarantees technical support, a one-year warranty on the installation, and the availability of spare parts supplied by the Signify Foundation.
This project, led by the NGO Action Puits based in Switzerland and AMII in Belgium, is the result of a strong alliance with Urban Product and its Fair Energy initiative, and Solarly, an experienced technical partner ensuring quality and administrative follow-up. The Signify Foundation complements this partnership by providing essential material support.
Beyond the technical aspect, this phase reflects an inclusive and inspiring approach. It enables concrete involvement in improving the living conditions of the children of Zalom.
Timeline
A co-funding and events campaign is planned between October and December 2025, delivery of equipment to Yaoundé in December 2025, and installation of the second phase between January and April 2026.

The first phase of the Zalom project came to life thanks to the commitment of several partners. The Province of West Flanders contributed €5,000, complemented by €3,380 raised through Fair Energy fundraising campaigns. Finally, the Fondation Synergie Renouvelable provided decisive support with a matching fund of €8,219, enabling the full funding required to launch the solar installation.
The second phase of the Zalom project already benefits from an in-kind contribution from the Signify Foundation valued at €3,895.93. A fundraising campaign is currently underway to secure the remaining €9,078.95, enabling additional installations and further optimization of the project.
A 5% administrative fee is applied by the collecting organization to each donation.
