Fair Energy 24 : KamerH20

We are delighted to announce that the Mbangweu drilling project is part of our Fair Energy 2024 campaign! This project, supported by the KamerH20 association, aims to provide more than 150 families in the village of Bamena, in the western region of Cameroon, with reliable access to drinking water. Thanks to a solar-powered pumping system, it will bring about a lasting improvement in living conditions by providing this community with an ecological and sustainable solution. This project is one of the eight key projects in our campaign and we are counting on your support to make it possible!

The project requires a total investment of 5 880€, which will be raised through this fundraising campaign.

KamerH20, an informal association, is led by engineers from the Cameroonian diaspora residing in Belgium who aim to facilitate reliable access to drinking water. Their first project is the Mbangweu borehole, which aims to address the urgent need for drinking water in the West Cameroon region. The project is located in the Mbangweu neighborhood, in the village of Bamena, a rural area where access to drinking water is extremely limited. With a growing population and high demand for water, this neighborhood faces frequent shortages, compromising the quality of life for its residents.

The Mbangweu borehole will provide clean and accessible water to more than 150 local families, approximately 825 people. The water will be used for daily domestic needs as well as for community activities. The proximity of water will save significant time in the daily lives of the neighborhood’s residents. This borehole will be powered by a solar pumping system, ensuring a sustainable and eco-friendly solution that reduces reliance on fossil fuels while providing constant access to water.

This project will have a significant impact by improving sanitary conditions, reducing waterborne diseases, and facilitating the daily management of households.

The project requires a total investment of 5 880€, which will be raised through this fundraising campaign.
