Great recognition for UP! Lokal
THE NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION UP! Lokal is very proud to be one of the 26 2023 prizewinners
of the Brussels Capital Region’s Be Circular – Be Brussels call for projects.
Be Circular is more than just financial support. It also means tailor-made support for each winner, so that they can benefit from personalized advice to help them make the most of their project.
Thanks to this support, UP! Lokal will continue to expand not only in the Cureghem district of Anderlecht, but also in other areas of Brussels where good food is sorely lacking. UP! Lokal will be expanding its range of products and services, notably with the introduction of a subscription formula of farm fruit and vegetable baskets delivered directly to partner grocers.
Through this initiative, Up! Lokal aims to strengthen and promote market gardeners and grocers, key players in the food chain. The aim is also to create more direct contact between consumers and producers.
At the awards ceremony on January 23, 2024, UP! Lokal had the pleasure of meeting the Brussels government’s Secretary of State for Economic Transition and Minister-President of COCOF, Barbara Trachte, who presented it with its prize. The evening was also an opportunity to present the project, and to meet and exchange ideas with the other 2023 prize-winners, in order to strengthen links with other players in the transition in Brussels.
